CAN I LIVE BETTER?

Jeremy and I went to a funeral yesterday, April 23rd. It was for his coworker who was a great mentor.  It was one of the best funerals I've ever been too. There was a good feeling in the room. It wasn't super sad or depressing. As several people mentioned it was a celebration of life. Listening to people speak about how good of a man he was made me really think what would people say about me? What could I do better? It also made me realize life is too short and can end quickly so enjoy it, cherish those you love and play lots of jokes..... I mean smile.

This great man got sick fifteen years ago and had to be on oxygen all the time.  He never let that stop him. He was always helping out. Then less than a year ago he got cancer, the same kind my aunt had. He still stayed positive. He still never complained. His last words to his wife and girls was "I love you".  His youngest daughter is in high school. That means almost all her life he was on oxygen and he still did lots with her and her sisters.

I only met him once but I hope I can be half the person he was. I hope that at my funeral people say half the good things about me as they said about him. I know I have a lot of things I could change. So I'm going to make it my goal to improve myself. And I say " Thank you" to him for not only being a mentor to Jeremy but for being a great example to me.
