Numbers

The first thing with numbers is today Nathan turned 14. So for awhile Matt and I are 28, Nate is 14, and Alma is 7. Two years ago Matt and I was 26 and Robby was 13. Next year Robby will be 16 and Alma will be 8.

Yesterday I had my eye exam. I was a little concerned when the assistant and the  Dr asked if I have noticed a vision change. Yes I have noticed a change but I couldn't tell how it has changed. My right eye went up by .50 and my left eye went up by 1.00! I definantly  need glasses.

The last "numbers" topic is Alma's dibble test. Got his results today. He fluently read 29 words per minute. That means he is an average first grader. His teacher would like us to just focus on reading for the spring and summer. Since he completed the other subjects awhile ago this will be easy.

HOP

We got to see yet again another movie screening tonight. We saw Hop. It was a cute movie. I laughed alot during the middle. The ending I thought was cheesy. I hate how it takes most of the movie to get to the climax and then it is over in minutes. But looking at the movie as a whole it was a great kids movie.

Chocolate Bunny

This has been a hard holiday for me. All the candy that I love to eat at Easter is chocolate. My favorite thing is to bite the ears off a hollow bunny and then drink milk out of it. We found a bunny mold and made me one. Alma wanted one but it takes some time to make one, and  it isn't cheap. We bought Alma one from Harmon's a couple of days later. It was a little thick but o' so good. It was so thick that no milk leaked out at all. Here are some pictures of the yummy bunny.

Look no leaks!!!

I was so happy to have a chocolate bunny

The straw got frozen in the bunny

Facebook status: My "little" brother is turning 14 in a week. Jere called to see what he wants for his birthday. Jere asked what size of t- shirt Nate wears. Nate replied "extra large." Jere not even thinking asked " Is that kids or adult?" I started to laugh, last i heard he was 6'2''!!

Movies and Dyslexia

It has been awhile since I have done an entry so I thought I should do one.

First I have lucky enough to get free movie screening tickets. First to Lincoln Lawyer, It was a great movie. It is "R" I'm guessing because it said the "F" word five or six times and there were some violent scenes. The next movie was Limitless. It is rated "PG-13" It was interesting, I'm still trying to figure out if it was a good movie or not. I left the movie think about it the whole drive home. The last Movie is on Tuesday, it is Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. I'm excited for that because Alma will actually be going with us. I have learned about other sites and "friends" on Facebook that give away screening passes so hopefully we will be going to more soon.

I was looking more into Dyslexia and I found this video that so describes me.

NEW GLASSES!!!

Today Alma had an eye exam. We took him in because he has been squinting alot. The doctor said "He could use glasses but it isn't a have to thing. It isn't worth a fight if he doesn't want to wear them." Alma wanted glasses. He played with them alittle, but kept them on most of the day. I even told him that he didn't have to wear them at the movie ( Mars Needs Moms premier) because it was in 3D. He really likes them. He has a nice case  and a cleaning cloth that he keeps right by him all the time. We found clip-ons that fit his glasses and looks good at Wal-Mart. We plan on getting them before summer.

The story of the nice glass case. Alma got a basic one from Eyemasters but not a traditional open and close tight kind. So we set out to find a nice/ fun one. We went to Wal-Mart, no luck. Then we saw Standard Optical and thought maybe they will have some cool ones. We walk in and don't see any cases. We walk to the counter and ask if they have any. The lady said yes and then walks to a drawer and pulls a brown case out, and says we can have it. I was like we wanted to buy one. The lady said, " These are the cases I have and you can have it." It was a  brown traditional open and close tight kind with a cleaning cloth inside. I didn't think it was "cool" but Alma was excited. So it was great, we got it for free and Alma was happy.

Totally Alma

Dirty Dishes in the cupboards?!?!

We have this system of doing dishes. I will load the dish washer and start it and Jere will unload it. Usually I start it at night and Jere will empty it in the morning so that I can load it during the day. Well last night it never got started. It was almost full and I ment to finish filling it but forgot. This morning Jere emptied the dish washer. Around lunch time I went to finish filling it start it. I opened the door and was horrified at what I saw, it was EMPTY! I got sick to my stomach. Luckily I have a good memory and could remember what was in there. I grabbed the plates and bowls, the cups and the silverware. As I was grabbing the plates they were greasy, there was a pan that was really nasty. I asked Jere if he couldn't feel or see the grease. He said, " I thought they seemed alittle dirty." I know I'm good at prewashing , but I'm not that good. I told him next time don't empty the dishwasher half asleep. And if the dishes seem dirty and the dishwasher door has food still on it leave the dishes in there. We had quite a good laugh about it.
